UP/SET
Volleyball where you play one athlete: the camera is your aim, three touches a side, and the match runs on a clock.
A friends-only playtest. Expect rough edges.
Install
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Gamepad (Xbox or PlayStation) or keyboard and mouse
- Steam to play online

Extract
Right-click the zip, choose Extract All, and open the folder it makes. Don’t run the game from inside the zip.

Run it
Double-click UPSET.exe. Windows will probably say “Windows protected your PC”: the game isn’t signed with a paid certificate yet.

Allow
If Windows Firewall asks about UPSET.exe, click Allow. Private networks is enough.

First Set
When the game offers Play First Set, take it: the tutorial, about three minutes, one touch at a time. It’s the fastest way to learn the buttons.
Play together
- Your Steam name is your name in the game.
- Up to six play, three a side, and four more can watch. Bots fill every place nobody takes.
- Switch side moves you to the other team when it has a free place. Victor starts the match, and afterwards everyone comes back to the party for the next one.
- Everyone needs the same build: this one, 71353d4.
If something goes wrong
- Accepting opened Spacewar, or asked to install it
- The game wasn’t running. Close Spacewar, start UPSET.exe, and accept again (or ask for a new invite).
- Custom game says to start Steam
- Steam wasn’t running when the game started. Start Steam and sign in, then press Try again on that page.
- Disconnected
- Press Rejoin. Your place is kept for two minutes.
- “Couldn’t join”
- Press Try again, or ask Victor to invite you again.
- “The host runs a different version”
- Everyone needs the same build. Download the newest one from this page.
- “That match is full”
- All six places have people. Up to four more can still watch.

Steam first
Start Steam, then UPSET.exe. While it runs, Steam shows you playing Spacewar. That’s Valve’s free test app, standing in until UP/SET has its own.

Accept the invite
Victor invites you and it lands in your Steam chat. With the game running, click Accept (or Join) and you’re in his party.

Play→Custom game→Join a friendThen pick Victor’s game.

Tips

Press early
Press Pass as the ball comes your way: your athlete runs to it and plays it when it arrives. Where the camera looks is where the ball goes. On defence, press Pass as their hitter swings for a quicker first step.

Perfect spike
Press Attack once your team’s first touch is played and the game runs your approach. Hold to charge, then let go as the ring closes onto the ball. It flashes gold.

Slow PC?
Settings, Video, Quality: Low holds 60 fps on integrated graphics. Resolution scale helps a laptop too.

Mark a moment
Press M (left stick click) when something feels wrong, or great. Afterwards, Share my records on the results screen saves a zip to your Desktop. Drop it in the Discord channel.
